Founded in May, 2002 EMCG Construction Corporation was created as a design/build, general contractor and professional manager of construction services. The company was incorporated by Eng. Egberto Morales-Carrasco, P.E. and his son, Egberto Morales-Gorjón, MSCM, EIT.

EMCG’s experience has been obtained during 40 years of Eng. Egberto Morales-Carrasco’s association with the most prestigious construction companies of the Island & Eng. Egberto “Berti’” Morales Gorjon’s education, management experience and work abroad in the Continental USA, which has offered us the opportunity to enhance our knowledge and capabilities within the industry.  Said experience was attained while carrying out the many different levels of responsibilities dealt with in positions such as Project Engineer, Project Manager and Company Vice President at different companies in a variety of construction projects such as, multi-story office buildings, multi-story parking buildings, public and private housing, schools, hotels, hospitals, industrial buildings, the San Juan Urban Train and others. Both  understand the unique demands and priorities  of each project  and work closely with their project teams to make every single one a success.

Egberto “Senior” brings 40 years of construction experience to the company and is a member of the College on Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He completed his BSCE at the UPR, Mayaguez Campus in 1966. Since then, has dedicated his professional life to the construction industry. After completing his Engineering degree, he worked for some of the biggest construction companies in Puerto Rico. Beggining his career with Rexach Construction in 1966 as an engineer at main offices, he dealt with take offs, estimates and costs control. He then worked with Interstate General Contractors, Bird Construction and Redondo Construction as a Project Engineer. Returning in 1987 to Bird Construction as a Project Manager, offered him the opportunity to enhance his administrative and project construction experience since he had to deal with different contractual concepts such as the design and built contract for the expansion of the El Zarzal Penal Camp, the cost plus contract for the renovation of Plaza Carolina and the negotiation phase and construction of the El Conquistador Hotel’s Cliff Top buildings and main pool area.

During 1994 to 1998 he joined Del Valle Group as Vice President in charge of the Building Division. While at Del Valle Group, he was extensively involved in negotiations with the owners for Pepsi Cola P. R., and the conceptualization of the project, dealing closely with the architects and consultants.

In 1999 he returned to Redondo Construction as a Project Manager in charge of three of the Urban Train alignments, Río Bayamón, Centro Médico and Villa Nevarez. At the latter two, he was in charge of the elevated portions between the Centro Médico Section and the Villa Nevarez section.

During the period from July 1977 to August 1982, he also worked for two small construction companies, M. A. Rios Vega Inc. and Ru-So Builders, where he supervised several smaller projects. While at Ru-So Builders, he supervised the addition of three levels and a panoramic elevator to the Education Department Building, which continued operational during the construction period.

egbertobertiEgberto “Berti” Morales E.I.T, MSCM

Berti brings significant construction and management related experience to the company. He has extensive knowledge in project documentation, management, estimating and related administrative procedures. He is an active member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico, American Society of Civil Engineers, AACEI member and Construction Specifications Institute member. He began his career in 1996 working as an Engineer’s Assistant for Del Valle Group in the estimating department for DTOP projects. In 2001 he graduated from the Polytechnic University of PR where he obtained his BSCE. That same year he began working with NECSO/Redondo at the Urban Train of PR as a Design Coordinator dealing with design approvals between the Contractor’s Designer and Tren Urbano for 5 of the 16 train stations.

He obtained his EIT license in 2003 and is currently underway to obtain his PE license.

In 2003 he moved to Miami, FL to pursue a Masters Degree in Construction Management, which he completed in 2004 at the Florida International University. While residing in Miami he was employed by Link Construction Group as a Assistant Project Manager. During the period of a year and a half he personally supervised and managed several healthcare, commercial and residential projects involving new construction and interior build outs. Later in early 2005, he was offered a position as a Project Manager with BOVIS Lend Lease one of the top 10 construction companies in the nation, as ranked by ENR, to manage the structural portion of a $70,000,000 fifty-story residential building along with other various trades including the Change Management portion of the project.

During this time he worked as a consultant for EMCG providing various services such as drafting and estimating. He now manages and oversees field operations amongst others.
